So far three squrriels with a single shot 20 ga. I lost two squrriels because they ran back to their dens before I could get off another shot. I'm not that good with a bow yet.<img src=icon_smile.gif border=0 align=middle>

Have only hunted squirrels a couple of weekends this year due to other concerns. I guess I've probably brought home 10 altogether. For some reason, fox squirrels seem to be overtaking greys where I hunt; the past couple of years they've been about 2/3 of what I've seen.

Today I finally get to get out my ol shotgun and go looking for those little tree rats. Hopefully I'll see the one I saw when I was deer hunting. It was a nice black body squirrel with a red tail. I thought about takeing him with my 300 win. mag., but what would be left to mount<img src=icon_smile.gif border=0 align=middle>. Good huntin' all.

For me, now is the best time to go. So far I've taken 20-25 with my 32 caliber muzzleloader. It is really hard to see them when the trees are in full canopy. I have taken 1 or 2 with my bow in the past.

Well, no black squirrel yet. Just wondering if anybody has ever used or had any luck with squirrel calls? I'm thinking of spending the money on one, if they work.

I havent hunted since the first week in Sept. Only once did I not get 6, as the place I hunt is loaded.I probably killed 50 this year, and one with my bow. I like the Mr. squirrel call and one mad by Louman. They both seem to help in calming them down after a 20 gauge boom
