Walked out side this morning and heard a crow caw first thing followed bi a gobler booming through the holars. Heard some more crows off away and then two or three jakes answered. Hope the little guys have the same luck!

After navigating the high water and getting settled we heard about 6 different birds on the roost this AM. Only one would work though but he tore the woods up for 3 hours but never moved more than 25 yards from his strutt zone. Listened to him bellow way too long as we had 3 live decoys hanging around our setup. After he finally shutup a little and our live decoys left we snuck into position and made a few calls but it was almost noon by then and nothing responded. On our way back to the truck we walked right up to him, DANG! He saw us about the same time we saw him. He never made a peep though. With hens all morning but by hisself around noon. Oh well, my son is going to give him a good dose of lead poisoning in the morning, good lord willing! Good luck!
