I can see right now opening day for me will be a bust. If it doesn't rain another drop between now and opening day my place might be dry enough to hunt but it's underwater right now. Was planning on setting up camp Wednesday to scout, listen and throw up some blinds but rain is forecasted next Thu-Sat. Don't like camping in the rain too much but really don't like camping in 2' of floodwater. Might have to go to Plan B.

The area we were planning to hunting is not under water but access to it is and will be almost impossible to get in if this rain doesn't let up a little. I have even heard of several roads being closed on the way there, so not looking good at all. Like you though, I am working on plan B as well. The bad thing about it is I have scouted, heard about 6 birds yesterday, placed a blind last week....now we might not be able to get in there.:(
Good luck and do the best you can.

Even if the water receeds it'll probably be a muddy mess and may change the patterns of the birds somewhat - I'm glad where I hunt sets on high ground but I do have a creek to cross to get there and I'm sure its close to going over the bridge by now - hope it all works out for everyone who hunts low lying areas

Plan B is hunting the high ground in a different county and staying in a motel instead of the tent. Not as much fun and costs like crazy but there's only one spring turkey season every year.

I am thinking about using the boat to get to some of my spots. I hunt some farms other folks have permission to hunt, I think I might be able to get to places that are impossible to get to without a boat. Sounds kinda fun runnin and gunnin on the water!

Now there's an idea but since the whole dadblamed place is flooded maybe I can troll instead of running and gunning. You think a gobbler might take a white Roostertail?:D
