Shot the turkey gun today

Is your gun shooting low at that distance. I ask because mine seems to pattern just like yours, however I'm shooting an Encore.

yes it is, it has shot low with everyhing I have tried. So I just aim a little high. I have plans on getting me a scope before next year to cure that.

45 yards is as far as I have shot. The nitros will not have any trouble from the end of the barrel out to 45 but not sure past that. They are too expensive for me to shoot a lot.

Ah, a fellow Nitro shooter. Doesn't seem to be many of us on this board. The big brown truck brought me a fresh box of 10 yesterday to pattern in my Encore. I've shot the H51013 in the past out of a SBE. They are awesome loads to be sure.

What choke are you using on your xtrema2? I bought a Rhino .660 for mine and patterned the winchester 3 in HD 5 shot. I shot a 25 yard target and it did pretty well. Did not have a chance to shoot 30 and 40 yet. Will do that this weekend. Will probably bite the bullet so to speak and get some nitro's to test.

RD, xtrema shoots a Primos Jelly Head. The only reason he shoots at 25 yards is because I am an expert caller and the only shots we take are within 25 yds.:D

dm26 is right. I shoot a jelly head .660 with nitro 4x5x7 but I dont know about the expert caller part. Although He's pretty good on a push button call.

Yeah I use a pushbutton call, I put one in each armpit, and have a diaphram in my mouth and a box call between my legs like a thighmaster. I like to sound like a flock of turkeys when I am in the field. Y'all should try it, 100% success rate every time!!

3 inch or 3 1/2? Been looking at the nitro in the combo you are using and was thinking of buying a box. Rhino website suggests 3 inch.

I agree, its all in the caller.....no need for a long range gun or super tight choke..........guess I just like to tinker with my loads too much LOL.

Forgot how far? Using those $5 shells you should have a tape measure with you and seen if it was worth all that money:p

I shoot those Winchester #5 in my 10 gauge and it reached out 70 steps and the bird didn't even flop. That comes out to be 2 cents a yard.

LOL, yeah that's what he is after all right. I saw him driving around his field on his 4 wheeler about 2 weeks ago pulling a sprayer. I stopped to see what he was spraying for this time of year and he was spraying Rogaine on the field. I said "Rogaine what in the world are you spraying Rogaine for." He said that he only sees Jakes so he thought that by applying Rogaine in the Jakes "strut zone" as he put it, would cause them to grow bigger beards. I have heard of mail order brides but can I get a mail order hunting partner, this is getting out of hand.:D
