View Full Version : Aluminum/Titanium call?
What do you use to condition one of these calls. Mine came with a little piece of rough sandpaper but it looks worn out. Seems I've heard it's got to be a certain kind of sandpaper to cut into the hard surface. Thanks, John.

You can use some medium to fairly coarse sandpaper and that will do the job on Aluminum, but I don't know about Titanium. I really like a Primos Slick Stick for conditioning calls. It has a stone as well as a diamond side and comes with sandpaper, Scotchbite pads/holder and chalk/chalkholder. Also has a neat little compartment for reviving striker tips that glaze over. Works great and is real handy on the fly in the vest.

I don't use aluminum calls but some folks use the sandpaper to clean their striker and use alcohol wipes to clean the call. Tom
Some green scotch bright pad is all you need for the alum. You dont want to "cut" grooves in the surface just freshin it up

I use fine sandpaper on my aluminum call and I keep the striker cleaned with sandpaper also...I love in in windy weather or where there lots of noise...close to highways, gravel roads and the such
