Question about youth hunt license

What does my little brother need to hunt the youth weekend. He is 8 years old. What kind of license if any does he need? Thanks in advance!

He needs nothing more than an adult (18 or older) with him.

Youth under the age of 12 are no longer required to purchase licenses or permits (except the Elk Lottery Application, Elk Quota Hunt Permit and Out-of-Zone Elk Permit). This exemption goes into effect with the 2008-09 license year

If your son/daughter tags a bird just call it in like normal it will ask you which type license they have and would have an option for youth 12 and under

Just go to the kdfw site and look up the turkey info and it will have a page for turkey and squirrel http://fw.ky.gov/pdf/turkey08.pdf?lid=2026&NavPath=C167C681
you can print the page that says how to fill out a harvest log should be page 9 print it out and keep it with you then if he gets a turkey he needs a ink pen with him and the harvest log, fill out the log before moving the turkey and you have till midnight to call into telecheck .
As long as he is under 12 no license is required but an adult must be present to be able to control the firearm at all times.
