I am getting ready to plant some fields with clover. What can I use to spray to control weeds without killing clover?

Grasses can be controlled by spraying herbicides like Vantage, Poast, or Fusilade. Other competetion can be controlled with Plateau, but new seeding clover is vulnerable to Plateau as well, only use it on established stands. Mowing is the cheapest and easiest option, taking it for hay is fine too, removes the thatch. Use herbicides only as per label instructions.

The HIP program is going through changes, there is so much Federal funding available to landowners that no one is certain how HIP dollars are going to be utilized. (they may be partnered with other funds to maximize incentives?) Fescue conversion is always a priority, and legume plantings can be a component. It depends on the funding available.
