What camera and camera arm do you use (make, model, great features, ect)? This is what I want to get with whatever is left of my tax refund/rebate after I get done doing some things to the house.

Ive used the huntercam pro series its ok. A custom one that allows you to use your choice of head would be the way to go.

For cams the HD canon xha1 is hard to beat for the price around 3,000

I use a canon XL1 with shoulder adapter or a fluid head tripod/monopod tree mount.

there are many cameras on the market today to choose from... i personally use a sony vx2100, but it all depends on the amount of money you are looking to spend and if you want standard or high definition quality? one suggestion is that if you are looking for a standard definition camera is to make sure the camera you purchase has 3ccd's (better quality picture). panasonic has a series of cameras called the GS series... these cameras have 3ccd's and the price range may start at $350 to $800, all depends on what you are looking for as far as manual capabilities, external audio capability, etc. try looking at b and h video or abes of maine, these are reputable businesses.
as far as the camera arm, like they said before, if you have the money hunter cam cradle is excellent.
these are just some suggestions, i guess they are kind of like opinions...... you know how that goes, but in all honesty before you purchase a camera research them and see what fits your needs the best.
good luck!

thanks for the responses yall...i have some good info to get me started now and appreciate it.
The Sony 2100 is a great camera, but if you are looking ahead to the near future, everything is going HD, you might want to spend the extra money now and go HD. The Cannon XHA1 is a sweet camera and isn't that much more. Just something to think about!
