Here's what I've found, so far

2 different bucks. These were found different farms.

find them around food sources or in thickets?

Most were found in food sources. 3 in a soybean field, 1 in a food plot, 3 in winter wheat fields. The other was in the woods. This was the second shed in the last 2 years that was found at the base of a tree with a squirrel nest. I believe they carry the small sheds back to the tree, and chew on them there.

I read an article in a recent deer hunting mag (forget which one). This father and his two sons from Iowa are rack hunting experts, I mean their eaten up with rack hunting. They said over the years they've actually found racks in trees where squirrels have pulled them up. Thought that was pretty neat, your info affirms that behaivor.

Nice finds Mike. I have only found one shed so far. My food sources were gone with the dry weather so it may be a tough year for me to find sheds.

The antlers are on the ground. I went out for 2 hrs Monday and found 8. It was just like being young again on an Easter egg hunt.

sweet, I guess I need to post what I've found so far too. It's been really slow this year and I haven't looked much due to time constraints

Went out again today for about an hour with my brother and found 3 more. This is the second year in a row that I have found an antler in a tree. It was a skull with one side of the rack already eaten away and the other was down to the brow tine. Total is now 11.

I spent about 2 hours Monday looking and have not found any. I saw a decent buck this evening with both antlers still.

The total is now 15.. Found 4 more after the rain cleared the area. With the sun shinning those white beams stuck out big time against the brown forest floor.

Jim Phillips who has found more than 14,000 sheds since he began searching as a boy in 1958, says his secret is to cover a lot of territory and keep his eyes on the ground. “I’ll walk 12 miles a day looking all over the place,” he says. “I can’t tell you how many times I’ve found antlers where other shed hunters—good shed hunters—have already been.”

Word of warning: Phillips adds that shed hunting can be addictive, and that it can also impede hunting success. “During hunting season, I don’t see many deer anymore,” he says. “I’m always looking down at the ground.”
