It wasn't quite as good as I expected, but we had a good hunt. Everything was frozen, and we had to break a big hole. We killed 4 gadwalls, 3 redheads, 2 ringnecks, 2 shovelers, 1 lesser bluebill,1 mallard, 1 gw teal, and a goose. All but 1 hen gadwall were drakes. Had a pair of blacks flair at 45 yards that we missed (too many dead ducks on the ice). Could have shot at 3 buffleheads that buzzed us 10+ times, but no one would shoot. It was a pretty cool morning, but I thought we would kill a limit for sure. Most shots were between 4 and 20 yards. I guess everything will be locked up now, so it will either be a spring or a creek. May just end my season today...
