I don't know who you're talking about but I hope it's true. Gillispie needs to jump on these kids earlier then Flubby did and start developing a relationship with them... I can't tell you how many guys we've lost over the past 3-4 years because they said the felt like UK wasn't interested in them. Flubby didn't even talk to some of the kids, he sent his assistants to recruit for him while other coaches were getting their hands dirty doing the hard work that needs to be done to land these kids.

It looks to me that Coach G is a whole lot more interested in in-state talent than tubby ever was. I love it!
tubby let alot of great Ky boys move on to different schools.
Thank God he's up in Mn freezin his elbows off!

In state and pipeline boys should be the easiest to land. And there is a lot of talent around. I don't know about the McCreary co boy...but I do know Billy G has been looking hard down those close to home paths.

LOL, it didnt really start with Tubby. "King Kelly Coleman" didnt play for UK either but that wasnt for lack of recruiting. If you havent heaard of King Kelly Coleman look him up. Jerry West said once he was the best he ever saw. He scored 4,337 points from 1953-56.Holds tons of KHSAA records still. First Mr. Basketball.

Coleman loved to party and drink.. Some programs don't want to take chances on those type of players.. Maybe Louisville:D

Yes, Coleman loved to drink BUT he could come in half drunk and still get 45 points staggering around:D
