Our cousin, pictured on the left, came down from Southern Indiana again this year and went with us on our trapline for 3 days. We had a land line out, but there were some red hot smoking beaver sign along the creek that bordered the property we were trapping. I never had any beaver gear with me, but I did have some snares. We set some snares and caught the beaver pictured. The morning before, I had a beaver by the hind foot in a snare. When my cousin asked me why I caught it by the foot, I told him it was to cut down on fur damage, but I later told him it was a pure accident. This pic also illustrates why my son ain't crazy about trapping beavers with me, he is my pack mule.

neat picture peck. Seems like you all have a great time trapping, I've never done it but you make it sound like a blast.

It is a lot of fun, but, like most other outdoor pursuits, it can be frustrating. One great thing about it is that it doesn't hurt to have a crowd with you. We are kinda like dogs anyway, we run in packs. :D

Sound great! Good luck on thinning out those timber cutters!

We went real easy on the beavers this past season. They are a blast to catch though, and people are practically begging us to catch them for us. Beaver trapping has opened up a lot of hunting property for us. The fellow that owns the land that the beaver pictured was caught had asked us to thin them out some. By the time we were through, he gave us a key to his gates and told us to hunt, fish, trap or anything else we wanted to do. Dad tried to give him the key back after season went out and he told us to keep it as long as we lived.

That's nice. Respect, that will get you along way with landowners. Good Job.
