I ate lunch with my fiance before I left Bowling Green for the week. She has to work all spring break so she stayed behind at her apartment. She kept telling me I better leave before it gets bad, I told her it didn't bother me as long as it snowed a bunch. I told her me and all my buddies were going sledding tomorrow. Thats when I got the shocking news....she has NEVER been sledding....23 years old and never been on a sled!!! WTH...I really wish I could take her! You are never to old to go sledding...just to old to sled down 40 feet of metal stairs...long story:D

there aint **** else to do in Kentucky when its snowing lol. Man I really dont know how in the heck im not in a wheelchair based on my history of sledding. We built this jump with shovels and one by one we would take turns blasting off of it in a tube. Well then we get the great idea to put two people on the tube and man the weight added another 8 feet of distance to the jump. Well soon enough 2 people turns into four and were all dog piled up on the this tube. We've got 700 pounds of teenager packed on this tube and it felt like we were going 80mph down the hill toward this jump. We hit the jump and must have honestly flew 15 yards, only to be stopped in mid air by a fence post! We had never taken the fence post into account before our take off because none of us would have ever guessed we could possibly fly that far. I thought my buddy Justin was going to die, luckly he only lost his breath for a half minute. Killinmammals, the sad thing is i've probably got ten more stories as stupid as the above. I will not sleep at night when I have stupid teenagers, BECAUSE I WAS ONE!

Oh yeah, you aren't alone on that one!! Good greif I seriously don't know how I have made it so far! Waxed car hoods spell death. I actually have a buddy who had his brother on a waxed truck hood behind a 4wheeler. He turned a little to sharp and his brother flew fullspeed into the side of their brick house. Messed him up really bad, ruined his baseball career, and he could have gone a little ways with it too. I remember sprayin water on one path we had slicked out...went out that night and was surprised at how fast it was. So we thought we would put two people on the sled...ended up going about 50yards farther than we expected and smacked a big tree in the woods. It was pitch black so we didn't see it coming until too late to bail. It knocked the breath out of me, and I couldn't move for about 5 minutes...I just layed there in the snow. It scared the $*#$ out of me, but when we recovered we ran up the hill to do it again on we knew the tree was there!!

When I was in College at Morehead. We would hit the hills. I seen a girl break a leg at the dam at Eagle Lake. We also got run off out at Cave Run spillway sledding down that dam.

About 10 years ago, my oldest son and one of his buddies decided they were going to try sledding down the staircase in a laundry basket. Obviously, they were too chicken so they used my youngest son (he was 3 at the time) as the guinea pig.
Yep, nice hairline fracture to his lower leg.
The last good packing snow we had saw four of us on a rail sled going down a huge hill on a county road. My cousin was on my Foreman behind us trying to see how fast we were going. As we began to pull away from him he looked down to see that he was going 48 mph and that was all he could do. We guessed our speed to be in the 55 mph range. We have not had a good snow since then to see if we can back up our world land speed record for a rail sled.:D

Now that is an accomplishment!! I don't think I have hit anywhere near 55mph....but you can bet I'm gonna try today!!! I found some amazing hills where I deer hunt!! Might have to take a camera with me!:D

Haha...oh, I found out the hard way I wasn't bulletproof when those trees jumped out infront on my bike at 65 right after the front wheel touched back on the ground!!:eek::o
I've inherited some health problems from the famliy, and I have them earlier than everyone else. I was going to take a buddy yote hunting this morning but woke up with my back hurting so bad I could almost cry. And I have an extremely high tolerance for pain before it bothers me to that point.
I surprised I am not more sore from sledding yesterday, that was the most fun I think I have had since, well for a long time!!! My buddy's wife and other friend's fiance watched and told us how much of a bunch of idiots we were...that let us know we were doing something right:D

We use to sled down a hill on one blacktop street just on the backside of town. There would be as many adults as kids most times. I would say as many as 50 people at one time. One of the adults owned a water truck and would fill it and spray down the hill from top to bottom can you say ICE run...The best part was when you got to the bottom this guy had a old army jeep and we would tie onto it's bumper and he would pull us around thru town like a train and by going up the backside of the hill that was not as steep to do it all over again. I have seen and been part of a 20 sled train going down hwy 431 and around to the top again.... Most times they had a big fire going off to one side.... That was back in the good old days. Now that hillside has 20 houses built on it and they clean the snow off as fast as it fall's.
