I am new to the site and was wondering how many of you hunt in Todd County or the surrounding area? Christian or Logan? I have access to hunt(deer) in Todd and was hoping to find out a little more about hunting in the area. I hunt quite often in NW Florida but just by looking at the terrain and the size of your deer I can only figure that it is quite different. Our gun season last from early December until the middle of February and you are allowed to kill a buck every day if you can!! Granted, none of them look anything like these from KY. Also, down here we hunt where the woods to field ratio is quite different than what I have seen in South KY. I guess I am just wanting to find someone who hunts in the area to ask some more specific questions.
Thanks in advance for any advice anyone is willing to share!

I use to hunt some land in Todd Co.(Kirkmansville) and Christian Co.(Crofton), we always had pretty good luck. We took several big bodied bucks with pretty nice horns to boot! Lots of thick timber and rolling hills. One good thing about Kentucky is I believe there are monster deer in just about every county, you just have to find a spot with low hunting pressure and spend lots of time in the woods.

I work to support my Hunting habit!

It seems as if not many of you hunt in the area so maybe I should ask who hunts the closest and where else are the conditions etc similar. I am trying to decide how to approach the 2004 season and was hoping to get some thoughts from the experts. Thanks

I hunt on one farm that is on the christian county border and it is just loaded with deer. It seems as if the deer are very thick down in that part. if you look on the pope and young and boone and crocket maps you will see that christian county has killed many big big bucks. I know that christian county is in the top 20 or so counties for most entries. Try to find good food sources such as bean fields in the early season and corn later in the season. You should have some success.

Good luck,

Jordan

I hunt Muhlenberg, Todd, Logan and Christian counties. Let me know if I can help in any specific way.
