I want to plant a food plot that will be good for turkey in the spring and deer in the fall. I have a field with some roling hills that is well drained that I put a plot in last year it did well but I wasn't really pleased. I planted Biologics New Zeland clover mix and Full draw together in a 1/4 acre patch I fertilized it well. But I thought it never was going to come up and when it did it was thin and the deer ate it quicker that it could grow. but I planted about two months before season.
This year I would like to plant in the spring. I am hopeing to enlarge the plot to 1.5-2 acres. and make my own bled. white clover, red clover, milo, and maybe alfalfa or lezpedea.
Also 2 side of the field has a fence row running along it I was thinking of planting sun flowers along it for doves. I have a tree stand in one corner kind of back in the woods where I would put my turkey blind at with a small clearing and was thinking of putting some chufa in it.
Just wondering what you guys thought and when you think I sould plant?
