Not that number matter to me, it's the quality of the hunt that i'm sure everyone here agrees with. Since the season is over, lets here how many quail, grouse and woodcook was harvested for the season here in KY.
I'll go first......8 quail
0 grouse
0 woodcook
This is the worst for me in a long time, and didn't get out much. But thats okay, i look forward to the season coming up and the trips i get to make out of state!

6 grouse, missed opportunities on 2 or 3 more.
1 quail, missed another
0 woodcock but didn't try for any.
EDIT: I looked back over my calendar, and can roughly guess that if I'd had a decent dog all season, I would have had 8-10 more decent shots at birds that were otherwise run up by the pup or walked up by me. I figure I would have killed a few of those, so even with such a bad year, looking at the numbers of birds that would have presented opportunities makes me feel a little better about the year as a whole.
With some decent spring hatching weather, I think bird numbers will rebound nicely in my area for next year.

Didn't hunt for quail this year. Although yesterday I moved a covey of about 15 birds while working some dogs.

O woodcock, which will always be zero, nasty things are not worth wasting a shell on. Saw more then I can count however.
5 Quail, only hunted them once and moved 3 covies.
I am not sure on Grouse as I do not keep count but it was a decent year, not banner but good enough that I felt satisfied when it was over.

It's no wonder you don't see many "fat" grouse hunters.
KDFWR grouse survey showed, 2 hunters with dogs averaged around 1/10 of a grouse per hour of huntin'.

I know some that do considerably better but on average, I'd say that's about right.

11 grouse
0 woodcock
1 quail while grouse hunting(dog was on point, i had to shoot one, it was in season)
The guy I hunted with and myself killed 18 grouse, it was a great season for only a hunt or two a week.

Me and my partner killed 9. Last year we killed 36 between the both of us . Big change I think the big hard freeze we had in may worked the chicks over I,m hoping at least.
