1.75 or #2 coilsprings would be what most people use around here. You could also use some snares on those critters listed. That's about it for those animals. Duke's are the cheapest made trap, and Minnesota Brand and Sterling's are the most expensive. I use Sleepy Creek coilsprings, they are well built and can be used right out of the box if need be. They will run about $120 per dozen. Snares are about $12-15 per dozen for 3/32" cable, but they are only useable one time.

K( trapper is right... Alot of people use the #2 Bridger if targeting the animals you are speaking of. Snares are a great tool as well. They keep on working when sometimes its tough for the footholds.... We use the 1.75 Sleepy Creek and it is a heck of a good trap out of the box... I may try a few #2 Bridger fully modified this year.....

Being new at land trapping this year, I used mostly modified Duke 1 3/4's that I traded for. I only had 2 pull-outs with these traps and caught some big coyotes (apparently Ky. is blessed with some unusually large coyotes because I have a couple that when put on Large wood stretchers, their tails hang over the end) and cats (several 20+ pounders) that held fine. My biggest problem was losing traps because of anchoring issues I had due to inexperience. Coyotes are very strong and will work a trap every way possible to get out. I also used some modified #3 Bridgers. They are a great trap but a little pricey for a guy just starting out. I plan on ordering a couple more dozen Dukes and won't have any concerns about them holding what I catch this year and it dosen't hurt as bad when you lose one to a trap thief, (which I had a few problems with this year as well). I also want to try snaring some this year to go along with my trap sets.

The above thoughts are right in line with mine. I won't land trap with anything smaller than a 1 3/4. I have had coyotes completely destroy 1 1/2 size traps so I never set them on dry land anymore. I have caught and held several coyotes in the Duke 1 3/4's with offset jaws. I bought a dozen #2 Bridgers this year and caught both coyotes and cats in them, after degreasing and waxing them. However, I like big traps, Dad and I both run #3 Dukes with offset jaws and I 4 coiled mine, but that isn't necessary.
