does anyone know of any dove shoots around lexington. from what i hear the one in mercer co. was leased by some rich a hole for him and 4 of his buddies. must be nice to have that much money to waste.i hope there will be some place where us common folk can hunt.

I have dove hunted on the WMA outside Bluegrass Army Depo. If its still open it would be a good place to go and not to far.

Wayne,
There is going to be a shoot in Shelby county again this year I heard good things about it last year, we should check it out.
I would also like to check out the Taylorsville WMA dove shoot area. Maybe one of us can stop by sometime while scouting the farm. It's not that far away.
That reminds me...call me on the cell. I may have the place booked up for both early and late muzzleloader and modern gun this year already.

hey strutter, would it be worth a trip to central wma for some doves?

Rouge, the fields look pretty good and there are some birds there. They only mowed a few strips through them. If you knock a bird down you will need a dog to get it.

Maybe Strutter knows omething different, they may have mown this week.

Sick!!! I'm not allowed to be sick (not for the last 8 years at least). Now a hernia, that might do the trick. Oh wait...I really got one of those and they still didnt let me off.

Oh you can bet the boss will make me work the 2nd too GSP. I need a new job.
Wayne, I'm thinking about going to the farm tommorow. Want to go?
Maybe we can plant some plots at dads place too. We will need to get a tiller as the tractor is still sedentary. <<<WANTED>>> one tractor. Don't care what kind as long as it runs and is free.

Which taylorsville dove place are we talking the tville wma I go to has no sunflower and enver has. It has tall tall grass except for some whacked over paths where tractor made a once around entire property. and I've never seen dove even cross the sky. This year grass is so high you couldnt find a deer to shoot or find it if you shot it. I would have difficuilty seeind a 600 lb elk.

I thought they took good care of Taylorsville as far as food plots went.

The one I go to has never had any food plots that were planted. They are usually pretty good about mowing enough but not to much. With 1 or two feilds cut enough to find a bird. Though again never any birds flying. Maybe the other wma around tville are better there is more than one I just go to one.
