I have a mossberg 535 with a thumbhole stock. I currently have the factory XX full accu choke in it. It is a .670. I wasn't satisfied with the pattern of this gun and choke combination out past 20 yards. Just wondering if anyone has this gun and if so what choke tube have you had success with.
I also just bought my little boy a Mossberg 500 super bantam (20 gauge) and was curious about choke combinations with this gun to anyone that has shot it.
Thanks for the help.

I'll say give the Primos Tightwad choke a try. We used one last year in a Berrata 20 gauge and it shot a great pattern, very pleased. Around $20 too!

With lead... a .670 or .665 should be good. I had a 870 3"in mag...26 in barrel & Hastings .670 that liked Federal #5's. Killed several birds with that gun.

If i'm not mistaken, the choke for your gun will be the same threads as the 500,930,& 9200 Mossberg, the Winchester 1300, the Browning Invector system, and probably several others. The great thing about these is that if you'll watch you can find these choke tubes fairly cheap.
Try a tighter choke, a .660 would be a good place to start. If I reacall correctly, I have a older 500 that has a Browning choke tube thats .660 and ported on it, it liked Winchester HV #5s.
Also, go to the nwtf web site, on their discussion fourm, there is a section just on guns, chokes and shells. Several members who post here, post there as well. There is alot of good discussion there, you'll learn alot.

IMO the undertaker patterns great with mossberg guns.
