I've always shot lead because my gun couldn't handle the hard stuff. I just bought a new 3 1/2" Remington and now I can use either. I'm curious just how many of you use the new hevi type shotshells and how many stick with lead. Thanks, Tom T.

I use Hevishot in both a Mossberg 835 and a Beretta 390. The knockdown power is better. It hits real hard. But, in both of these guns copper plated Winchesters or Federals pattern better in similar shot sizes. Still, it's not alot of difference and like I said the Hevishot is brutal. Physics, I guess.

Either will kill one fine. Depends on how far you shoot. Hevi might give you an extra 10 yards or so. the hevi and 3 1/2" load might also allow you to use one size larger pellets which gives you another advantage all else being equal.
