We Had 28 Hens In The Hayfield Thursday Morning And 3 Of Them Had Beards. 1 Had About A 5" Or 6" Thin Beard And The Other 2 Had About 8" Beards And Both Of Them Were Pretty Thick.

If I ever get into a situation with a bearded hen standing beside a gobbler, she is toast. I have killed plenty of toms, but never a bearded hen.

I killed my first bearded hen last year, at first I wasn't going to shoot, then I thought every turkey hunter needs a least one bearded hen in his collection!!!

We had one on video last season at 9 yrds and 2 more out in the field at about 50 and could not get my sister-in-law to pull the trigger. The good thing about being the camera man is I got to watch my brothers reaction to the hunt over and over again...

I've seen a lot of bearded hens but never wanted to shoot one. I would rather shoot a big tom.
