When I was at WKU you could call ahead and know if you got picked...it has all changed now...any chance of getting in if you are just a regular civilian now? You can PM me with good places to hunt on the base and any secrets you might have...any and all help would be greatly appreciated...

Unless you are military I wouldn't even think about it....unless you live close by and can hunt late in the day after areas are turned in.

You can still call ahead, but most spots get taken. We went down the first time ever stood in line til 730 and got a spot. Jody killed a double, I got skunked but saw 5 toms. Haven't had any better luck even when I had a spot first thing. I'm a disabled vet so I usually can get in.

I hunt FC and also a DAV. I called in right at 8:30 a.m. two days before every hunt day and didn't get in for a single morning (dawn) hunt. Now I did get in for some late morning and afternoon hunts. The first couple of weeks are the worst. After Tenn and Ky open it isn't so bad.
I have hunted FC since the 80's and last year was one of
the hardest to get in yet. I guess because of all the training and so few areas available for hunting. Maby it will be better this year. 34 day and counting :D
