I'm going to buy a new vest for turkey hunting hunting this year and was wondering what would be a good one? I would like one fairly simple. Thanks, John.

I will make you a suggestion, what ever you do do not buy one with straps because they all ways fall off. I would buy a true shoulder vest, just my 2 cents.

I have a primos and like every thing about it except for the box call pocket. I don't have a problem with the straps falling off of my shoulders with this one. For me the more pockets it has the better and the bigger the decoy bag the better. ZTT

Super Elite by Primos is as good as they get.

Uncle Lee's should have them?

I've had a Bucklick Creek turkey vest for more than 10 years. Its made to support your back ..even if your not leaning against anything. The pockets are lined to be waterproof and theres plenty of compartments sewn into them to organize all your calls and other gear. The seat is designed to flip up against the back ..so you dont have anything hanging down while you walk. Its a strap type but it has grippers on your shoulders & cross strap to keep the straps from slipping off. This has never been an issue with mine but I could understand where that could be for other vest.

Bucklick Creek was out of Missouri and a few years back... Bass Pro / Red Head I believe bought them out. Bass Pro markets basically the same vest under their Turkey Lounger line. Hopefully their the same quality as Bucklick Creek was putting out. Back then I was so impressed with their stuff I bought a fanny pack & small day pack... still using them as well.

Second the Bucklick Creek. I bought one two years ago and absolutely love it.

I've always had good luck with the Elite line from Mossy Oak. Very comfortable and lots of easy access pockets. From what I've seen, the Primos is also a nice vest, but I don't know how secure the slate call pockets are. The Dixon vest that mossy oak did in limited numbers last year was really sweet and I think the new Limbhanger vest from mossy oak is a new designed vest that is based upon the Dixon limited edition w/a few changes and a lower price tag.

My opinion is get the one that they sell at WalMart. I dont know what brand it is but mine has held up for several seasons now and has had a few birds thrown across the back of it. It has a lot of pockets and a box call pocket. Only $30 too.
