I think this man could bring us together and save this country.
You can disagree with him on issues but he seems to stand by the constitution

He is the only true grassroot candidate running!

Think about that for a minute. Ron Paul's message is 100% completely and totally against the interests of the companies that own the major media outlets. As such, they have systematically (and quite efficiently) removed him from this race.

Some of the injustices performed against him by these people are nothing short of criminal.

He's got a Libertarian background and it freaks some folks out for whatever reason I can't figure out. Libertarians believe the Government shouldn't be taking care of you, me or any other able-bodied individual. They --the Libs -- feel that taking care of others who can't is best accomplished by charitable organizations, churches and the like. There was never a need for the govt to get into charity until the Great Depression. FDR's New Deal was a radical plan, needed in a radically depressed economy. When it ended, so should have these social programs and a tax on personal income. The original framers of our Constitution envisioned a limited government, focused at the local scale. The Federal government was meant to handle foreign policy such at diplomacy and regulating trade, regulating interstate commerce, military, The Supreme Court, etc. What has ballooned today would cause those framers to stroke out if they were alive. I think hard working folks who want to keep what they earn and not enable others to sponge can support this stance.

What freaks out a lot of folks is that they reduce government interference in our lives even further, by advocating that the government shouldn't be in the business of war except when attacked (I'd say 9-11 would qualify) and shouldn't be regulating its citizen's morality. They are against the war on drugs and some would argue that would seem to encourage the practice. These are issues that the truly conservative religious right could never tolerate. Right or wrong this alienates those conservatives.

Sorry for the ramble, but Ron Paul is the best choice to lead this country in my very humble opinion.

The reason he is not doing so well is that he is not receiving adequate media time.
Fox News didnt even invite him to their debat and would not allow him to participate.
This election should be an eye opener that the media controls and manipulates elections by giving us their candidates.

your right, when he is allowed to debate the moderators hardly allow him to talk and let romney and mccain blab all they want, then paul has to rush to get what he needs in...

after the debates they'll have call ins to see who people think did the best, paul has never lost, and yet the blow it off.. if he had any help from the media like the others, he'd be contending

Paul's stance on the size of government, your income and taxation sounds to me like it correlates with the Libertarian stance:

What Happened to Your Family Budget?

Do you remember when the standard of living in America was the best in the world?

Today it is doubtful if our children will be better off than we are. Today, buying a decent home is no more than a dream for many hard-working American families.

Something has caused your family's budget to be cut. Something is going to destroy your family's future unless you act to stop it.

That something is the Federal government and its policy of taxation and inflation. Let's take a look at a median income family of four in the 1950s. At that time, the Federal income tax amounted to only 2% of the family budget. Americans enjoyed the highest standard of living in the world.

By contrast, in the 1990s, the Federal income tax takes 25% of income for the same family of four. Taxes at all levels -- federal, state, and local; hidden and visible -- take about 50% of a family's income. We must work from January to June just to pay taxes.

It now requires two paychecks to keep many families from going bankrupt.

Typically, a working mother brings home 32% of a family's income.

So, whether she chooses to work -- or must work to make ends meet -- taxes have stolen her contribution to the family budget. In other words, one spouse now works all year just to pay taxes.

Ask yourself: Is the government spending that half of your income wisely?

You Work Harder

During those same years, the government has increased the money supply -- producing inflation. Whether the inflation rate is 12% or 3%, the result is the same: groceries cost more; clothing costs more; your car costs more. You work harder every year for less purchasing power.

The Federal government is driving your family into bankruptcy.

The government hasn't stopped there. They have borrowed so much money that your children will be sacrificing their entire economic lives to pay the Federal debt.
It seems that no matter who we elect to public office, the government budget gets bigger and the family budget gets smaller.
All too often we have only two choices in an election: a Democrat or a Republican. And no matter which one you vote for, you get higher taxes, bigger deficits, and broken promises.

There is Hope for Your Family

There is a political party that believes the family budget is more important than the Federal budget. A political party that is working to restore the hopes and dreams of every hard-working American family.

It is the Libertarian Party.

Over one hundred Libertarians are currently holding public office. Each of them is working today to keep the government from taking any more of your money. And each of them believes that if government were limited to protecting us against force and fraud, then most Americans would be better off. Less government corruption. No more expensive "boondoggle" projects. No more "special interest" favors at your expense.

The Libertarian Party always defends the family budget. In its entire history, elected Libertarians have never voted to increase taxes. In fact, Libertarians were instrumental in having the Alaska state income tax repealed.

The Libertarian Party will stop the waste in government by decreasing its size and power. We will work to roll back the power of Washington bureaucrats and politicians -- and leave you and your neighbors in control of your own lives.

you cant compare 1950's family bugett to a 2008 family.in the 50's dad worked and mom stayed home.they had a mortgage on thier large for that time 1200 square foot house.gas and electric where cheaper than now but adjusted for inflation its not that great a deal.they had 1 car and probably didnt have to pay insurance on it they had 1 phone and 1 tv.if they took a vacation it was to visit relatives or work on a progect around the house.in 2008 dad works mom works they pay for thier 2500 sguare foot house and utilities.they pay for thier telephone bill, their 2 or 3 cell phone bills, thier cable bill ,the satilite radio bill, the high speed internet bill ,2 new cars and the insurance.the kids get wii's for christmas, they go to aruba and mexico or florida for vacation.if somebody wants to live in the 50's they can (husband working mom at home )but they have to give up a few modern luxuries.
