I'm looking at purchasing a ground blind. I'm leaning toward the Easton 360 for around $200. Do you have any other suggestions or comments on this blind.

I like the Escape and eclipse series blinds form Big Game treestands. I have had good luck with them, and they are cheaper. Is the Eastman a hub style blind?

What do you mean by hub style? It has four poles on each side and you pull 5 ropes to open. My buddy has one and we have hunted 4 people and a camera in it.

sounds like a hub style. What that means is basically it has a hub in the center of each side and the top that the poles connect in to. When you pull on the rope, or push out on the sides, the hub rotates and pops the side of the blind out, holding it tight.

Do you all just use blinds for bowhunting or gun also? I have tried to hunt out of them but have been unsucsesfull. I think it is because i dont have time to scout the fields the turkeys come in.

Ameristep Dog House. Big enough for two people, easy to set up, and cheap. You can find them on sale from time to time for around $60.

My answer would depend on what you want to use it for. . . If exclusively for turkeys, you can get away with any cheap one that sets up in a hurry. Turkeys just don't pay much very attention to blinds, and just about anything will do.

If you plan on also using it for deer, I'd probably invest a little more. I've got a double bull and love it.

I'm sure the competition has caught by now, so I'd bet you can get a different kind of blind that's just as good but a lot less expensive.

I've used a Double Bull for several years now. Quality construction and works great on turkeys. Not cheap though.

Yes it is a great way to gun hunt we have killed many birds using them. It allows you to set up and if the birds come in from a differnt angle you can just swing around to another window without spooking the bird. It allows you tho get some good footage by using a video camera. The secret is to get some good decoys (pretty boy or b-mobile) and the birds will come to you. Just get somewhere that can be seen easily from all points of the field. Check out my new thread about prettyboy in action.

I'm looking to make something different to bowhunt with. I would like to make something to set up in front of me that looks like a cedar tree so I could hide behind and draw my bow as the bird passed behind it. I would like to have maybe two or three of these to set out in front of me and be very mobile so I could fold them up and relocate fast...unlike a pop up blind. I like the ideas of the umbrella type blind but would like it taller. I just hate to be pinned down in a blind when I need to move.

I think I have a good idea on how to make a 3-D tree that will collapes down fast and not weigh much at all.

That sounds like a great idea. You might be able to find some type of christmas tree that that would help in your design.
