Thanks guy's I'm proud of her....
No this one has done it's time in the woods...I have had it for 18+ yrs. Bought it in Oregon from a logger and drove it back out here....I even lived in it for a while (with my dog) I'm 3rd owner and still have all the original paperwork and even the little metal maintenance card from the original owner. I't is all original gear with a little of my own decorating preferences.

The last one that I had was a 1976 Ford Ranger that never made it to the finished stage.

I had a 460 bored .040 over, thoroughly massaged built and dropped in then started the body work. It hit a snag when it turned into my daily driver due to a couple of old ladies totalling my real daily driver. It never made it back from the primer stage before I couldn't afford to feed it anymore. A vehicle that gets 6 mpg on the highway doesn't make for a very practical daily driver when you're tight on money.

Sure was a fun ride, though. It would fry the tires rolling at 35 mph when you kicked it into passing gear. :D

It was the color of skindog's truck from the factory and I was going to repaint it the same. I don't even have any pictures of it. :( I never saw it again once it left the driveway on a trailer.

Those are a couple of nice rides, guys.

My father-in-law has several antique cars. He's not in to any muscle cars or the like but you won't find anyone that knows any more about cars from 1950 on back. He can look at one and tell you if everything on it is stock or it has a wrong part on it, from the motor to the door handles, to the interior, to the chrome. If it's not right he can tell and tell you what it's supposed to have.

Whoa! Some beautiful Detroit Iron. My compliments to the builders. I like silver better than bronze, but I'd be happy to drive down the road in either.

Maybe when I get out of the tuition business, I'll take the old Ford Ranger that's been in the family for 20 years and pimp my ride. I wonder how you shoehorn a 351W into the hole where a 4.0 sat?

Wish I never sold my '58 Impala. They're worth something now. I got it for a broke-down 68 Cutlass and a Fox Sterlingworth. I probably got hosed.

Thanks guys. I've owned alot of old cars with three of them being tri-5 chevy trucks. My highschool hotrod was a 72 big block monte carlo. I've had a 70 camaro and a 70 el camino also. My wife has a 71 mustang in Baltimore that her aunt gave her. It's going to be shipped her soon. It'll be the first ford my craftsman tools have ever touched! If it's ever finished I'm starting on the high school ride that is still at my parents. It hasn't run in about 5 years and has some cancer issues...... Here is my dream car

Nice rids fellas!!! I unfortunatly don't have a classic, but I always worked on them. I had a chance 3 years ago to buy a 48 chevy pickup, all original, down to the glass and crankstart 6volt. I could have had it for $2500...wish I had bought it but I just threw down my money on a new f150:(. When I get out of school thats another thing on the list, pile up some old cars and work on them when I can. I know where an man has a coupld hemi cudas, old dodge truck with 392 hemi, couple of 69 fastbacks, and a couple of 70s era montes. Nobody knows about, nobody is going to know about it either...he won't let em go, they just sit in a field:(. Maybe one day I'll talk him out of a car or 5?:D

NO I know for a fact without a doubt they are HEMI CUDAS!!! I almost passed out when I saw them!!! I was picking up a 84 stang that I was gonna build into a autox car. I asked how much he wanted for them, but said they weren't for sale and wouldn't be, thats why they were in a small field completly surounded by thick brush so nobody could see them. The guy is a really really nice guy in his 60s(?). He is sorta related to me I think but very very distantly. Heck the guy didn't even have indoor plumbing until about 5 or 6 years ago. He is probably one of the nicest guys I have ever met in my life. I see him every Christmas and Thanksgiving

If they are setting in a field, they are already junk. You just can't let that stuff set in this part of the country without it being an instant piece of rust.

I have seen a ton of old stuff out west just watching time go by and the owners won't EVEN think about selling it.

What beauties they could be. ;)

My old truck sat in less than desireable conditions for 10+ yrs...i'm ashamed to admit....It didn't do it any good but I was able to bring it back to life with a little bit of love and LOTS of money.:o

This is the closest thing that I have had to an "old" car. I bought this car off of a friend of mine. Unforunately the only addition that I made to the car was the wheels and tires. It needed nothing in the field of preformance. Under the hood was a 69 model LTI from a Corvette that had some mods and a turbo 400 trans with 2500 stall converter. The rearend was a Richmond fitted with 4:10 gears. This thing was loads of fun, but had to go when I bought my place.

With the availability of aftermarket parts you can completly rebuild a car if you have the money to blow on it. I've seen some of the worst rust buckets you could imagine turn into some groundpounding show stoppers.

You can take a 400 chevy engine , and stroke it out with 400 crank , 350 rods , I think thats how it is . But you come up with a 383 chevy !:DBeen a longtime since I have messed with engines but I believe thats right .

350 with a 400 crank to a 383...they can be some bad little engines! Of course you have to have certain combinations of parts to make the deal work...journals on 400 crank have to be turned, need an external balancer, special pistons or you can get away with 350 pistons and 400 rods...blah blah. And yes Skindog you are right...there is really no such thing as a junk hemi cuda!!

I have owned a 68 and a 69 with a 396 in it that was a bad dog. Traded it for a 69 Z, but the 396 was faster and quicker in a quarter or 1/8. The Z was totaled in a wreck that darn near killed me. Bought a 71 with the insurance money but the trill was gone at that point.

Actually a 350 with 400 crank bored 30 over. A standard 4" bore 350 with 400 crank is a 377. I think the math on a 40 over 350 with 400 crank equates to a 388... But can't remember for certain. You can also destroke a 400 to make a high rpm screamer where as the stroked 350 (aka383) is a torque machine. I had a 383 for about 50 miles........ :(

Yeah forgot to add the over bore, I helped build a 383 once from a 350 block...610hp on the ground....yes it was a beautiful thing!! Went in a late 80s camaro.
So...only 50 miles...that just sounds sad
