I have 5 A-Bolt's but they are the Stainless/Composite models. I LOVE them !!! Adjustable triggers, weather proof, spot on ballistics. WHAT more can you want ?
I also have a Browning Cynergy 12ga O/U that is black/stainless. SWEET piece. Comfortable stock, external chokes, ported, light, spot on fit.
These guns are expensive compared to some & cheap compared to others, but I am making sure that my generations of offspring have something to use when they get old enough ! I'm just breaking the rifles in for them ! ;)
BTW my kids all own A-Bolts too. :D

I also own a Browning A-Bolt "Hunter" in .308. Most accurate rifle I've ever owned! Took it out the other day, to just shoot it at some targets, and it placed all four shots almost in the same hole! Since I mounted a 3-9 power Leupold scope on it, I have never had to adjust the sights, since I sighted it in a couple year ago. My A-Bolt has a Walnut stock with floating barrel.
Browning makes good stuff. I have an Abolt II but not the stalker. I don't think you could go wrong with any browning.
