OK, fellows...I've wrestled with the idea of doing nothing till Xtreme gets back or going ahead with the votes so that we might be able to make some impact ont he up-coming Commission Meeting. I've decided to hold the votes on all the issues EXCEPT the WMA Fees, and have the totals ready when Xman gets in. That way he can make the appeals to the proper authorities or we can talk about our plans on the proposed changes.

The reason I believe that I can make this decision is that as VP, I'm in charge until Rick gets back. The BY-LAWS and Charter are out there, but have not been accepted as of yet. So, we are effectively without Bylaws at this point. As I say, they are posted, and there have been several comments on some small changes some folks want made. I believe the bylaws need futher discussion and then someone needs to move to bring them to a vote. That would call for a second and then we would decide to accept or reject as written.

One of the other reasons is by the early tallies, it appears we have a position we ant to support already. With the Commission meeting set for the 23rd. We'll have to work fast.

At any rate, when your done reading this, you'll need to go to the closed section and officially vote. Your preference in the Public forum means nothing. Only those that vote yea or nay in the Members only section will count.

From the dissucions in this forum, it shows that we are against the baiting change, 10 NO/1 YES/1 MAYBE --You'll be asked to vote on "Should we support the change to outlaw baiting".

The use of Ulimited Doe tags discussion shows most people are against as is, but might like a limit of some sort put on the high end. The total were 6 against/ 3 for them/ and 2 maybes--with some others who wanted limits added. - You'll be asked to vote on "Keep unlimited doe tags as is" or "Put a limit on the upper end" or "Do away with unlimited doe tags, in favor of a quota by county". Be sue your explain your vote on this issue so that it can be counted.

Then we will vote on the chnge to a "split modern gun deer season". The dept. want to have two, nine day seasons, roughly a month apart instead of the traditional seasons we now have. Our discussion shows that we are dead against this change. You'll simply be asked "Do you support the change" which you would answer YES or NO.

As the discussion bear out, this vote is closely tied to "Moving Fall Turkey". While not as overwhelming as much, we we're against both of the proposals. Keep in mind that "if the split gun season doen't happen, this will be a very small change, but if the go from a 16 day season to 2 9 day seasons, then it will impact more folks. You will essentually be losing 4 additional days of bow hunting. So, you'll be asked "Do you support moving the Fall Turkey Season".

I'll post thos in a few minutes.

VOTING WILL CLOSE AT MIDNIGHT SUNDAY!!!!! This will give Xtrem time to get something together for the meeting, hopefully. If anyone objects to any of this, save it till Xtreme gets back and will let him decide if it's a valid vote or not. Thanks!

Welcome back! Hope you did some good in the shoot? Things are moving, as you can see.

Three of the votes are sure things--NO, we are against the split gun season, almost to a man, nobody wants this.

Likewise with moving the fall turkey season, almost unanimous against moving it anywhere.

Unanimous aginst banning baiting. We want it left as is.

But, we are going down to the wire on the unlimited doe tags. We are for keeping unlimited tags, but about half of the guys want to put an upper limit on them. I haven't studied what the limit is but it's between 4-6. most people think 6 total does is plenty enough for anybody.

The vote doesn't end till midnight, but this one issue is the only one that needs decided. Email me if you have a problem with anything that happened while you were out.

Thanks guys. I shot real good Sat. but bad Fri. Wife did not shoot. She went sightseeing. It's beautifull country out there and she took advantage of it.

I've read the results and I'm getting ready to draft a letter. Votes are valid as far as I'm concerned.

Thanks to all who ran the show while I was gone.
