Thinking about getting out there on LBL this afternoon. Winds are blowing like crazy right now. If the wind stays like it is (15-25 mph), will deer still be moving?

Deer move every day...they gotta eat...you just have to be more watchful on windy day's cause ya can't hear them coming.

Remember how windy and cool it was Friday, my nephew went bowhunting and had 4 deer walk under him well before light was gone and harvested his first bowkill. I was out putting up my cams at another woods and got chilled quick from the winds.

Nope, same as always, only thing I dragged out was my blind and gear. Had a deer bust my blind from behind. I know it didn't see me, maybe caught my wind I guess. I just don't have very good luck deer hunting, but it won't stop me from trying. I'll be out there again next weekend.

Mike, get out of that blind and use your climber especially for those trips to LBL for deer.

It's been in my experience that on real windy days deer tend to bed down alot! I've hunted real windy days before with a bow and it does make shot placement difficult. Hunted Knox years back on a very windy day and missed a doe three different times before she finally walked off.

If you don't want to get in a tree, just camo up like you're turkey hunting and find yourself a natural hide. Those deer know what every limb and rock on the place look like and exactly where they are. A big box isn't doing you any favors.

I was just standing between an oak and a cedar tree when I stuck the one up there in October.

Thanks Crackerstacker, that'll be my next plan on the next windy day.
