View Full Version : I am thinking about getting one of these....
Here lately I haven't been too pleased with the killing power of my .30-06 so I think I am going to get one of these. Penatration should be better but the price tage is a couple hundred more than I want to spend. http://www.cabelas.com/cabelas/en/content/community/gun_inventory/inventory/post_falls/fine_rifle/888791_mkow4bore_pf.jsp?hierarchyId=10473
Here is a link to someone shooting it, http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ElmlIyOtf1Q&feature=related.
The 4 bore should provide a small increase in stopping power. I think I will give it a try next season:D

I saw a gun similar to this at a Safari Club dinner. It is hard to imagine just how big it is unless you shoulder it. NO way I would shoot it. I'm pretty sure it would be a case of instant rotator cup repair waiting to happen. :D

Garsh.
Look how tiny the triggers appear under what appears to be a normal-sized gun.
I'd shoot it, but only once, just so I could say I did. 26 pounds ought to tame it enough for one shot.

One would think ?
Right up until you pull the trigger.
IF you had that gun placed just a tad high it could break your collar bone. The guide told me stories of hunters that had done just that.
Sooo if you are facing down a Cape Buffalo @ 50yds,,,, you gonna worry about your collar bone ? I don't think so. :D
I never did ask them what the ammo cost's for it ? I'm guessing $5 a shot ?

5$ a shot, more like 50 $ a shot plus 500$ for the people to pick the shooter up after the shot

You are thinking about getting one?
That tells us you do not currently own such a piece and in admitting such are telling us that you are woefully unprepared to protect yourself and your family from the influx of mastodon, T-rex and Mothra that is sure to come.
Please turn in you man card. ( :D )

Why not just go ahead and buy a .577 T-Rex? :D A four bore is for "Wimps"!:D

If I get some more gift cards for Christmas each year, in about 2200 years, I could get one! I'll let you know how it shoots.

577 is i think a 750grn bullet and the 4 bore is rated for up too 2000 grain....i'll take the 577
The four bore has a rifle bore of .999 and shoots a 2000 grain bullet. I don't understand why it has two barrels. Unless someone else is with you becuase after I shot it the first time someone else would have to pick the gun up and shoot it because I would be flat on my keister.

30-06 not enough killing machine huh? Try a self propelled howitzer, mini gun, bazooka, discount cruise missle, who knows, they might get the job done.

I was kind of thinking along those lines but the licensing and forms are outrageous. If only they made a .50 BMG in a magnum:(.
