Saturday was a good day. Weedwalker, myself, and another friend of mine went coyote hunting here in Jackson County, on our 3rd set up, while trying to call in a bobcat, I called in this guy. I started out calling with a Yellowhammer Woodpecker, then switched to Baby Cottontail, and then to Bobcat in heat, he came in to the bobcat in heat. Weedwalker was set up behind me watching the hollow on the other side of the ridge and said that there was somthing coming to him also, but when I shot it evacuated the premises. He weighed in at just over 43 pounds. (more pics below)

This is the area that we were calling in, I circled the area that the coyote was standing when I shot him, I was sitting about where the picture was taken from. We didn't have our rangefinders, but it was somewhere between 100 and 120 yards. I shot him through the neck with a .243WSSM 95gr. Ballistic Silver Tip (bang flop :D) I shot him through the neck because he was peeking around a tree and his head and neck were all I could see. (one more pic below)

This is my pup Duke. He is a blackmouth curr and turned 5 months old the 17th of December and weighs somewhere between 40 and 45 pounds. He is in training to be a decoy dog and is very interested in the coyotes, at least after the shot...
