Coyote Hunting in WMA's

Has anyone had any luck coyote hunting in any of the WMA's we have in KY? I remember deer hunting in Peabody a few years ago and saw lots of coyote sign, but was wondering if anyone does any hunting out there. I have a leased farm that reportedly has yotes, but I am looking for more places to hunt. I am just ate up with coyote hunting. If there was a nice 12 pointer standing next to a mature yote it would be a tough call on which to harvest. Think I'd take the yote! Thanks

I called one in for my buddy last month. He both had our crossbows, he came in within 1 minute to a cottontail in distress.

What type of weapon where you hunting with at yellow bank?

Used to be a lot of guys hunted Peabody. They killed a ton of yotes off there. Sure did the rabbit and quail hunters a big favor as the rabbit/quail population was way down and after they thinned out the yotes it came back. Set up on those high banks overlooking a big thicket with electric call's was the trick for them.

i used to use a 30-06 but now have a 22-250. i do wait till deer season is over before i start coyote hunting down there, i dont think you have to though. my ex girlfriends dad owns all the land on the river before you get to the creek and i have permission to hunt that also

went this morning at yellowbanks 1st stand called one in to about 25 yds but was set upwrong and had to swing to the left. shot and missed stupid mistake. made 3 other stand that turned up nothing eccept had 2 answer my greeting howl but couldnt get them to budge. dont know if i had of moved closer to them if it would of helped or not. i was afriad id get busted. still i had fun

I also hunt yellow bank, so far only for ducks but I think I might try it out in a few hours for yotes. I only live about 15-20 min. away from there. Can you hunt on the public land with a center fire? I believe we can only use a shoot em up gun.

Iam actually headed home this weekend and me and my roomate are going to try to go to yellowbank and see what we can get into.

in breckenridge co ky right on the river. look on a map for moolevile or chenaultt its right along the ohio river

I have also seen alot of sign at peabody, but have never had any luck hunting them there. I think they get alot of hunting presure there.
