Yep,,, it is used on alot of stuff. Skinless Chix Breasts, & Salmon to name two. ;)
Mayo, dry rub spices, White Wine. Wisk well and coat meat. Broil or grill till done. Actually it is pretty good. Just can't keep leftovers AND you have to cook to a finished temp hotter than 140. ;)

Well gezzzz how many ways can there be ? Dozens,,,,
One thing I do differently is the sugar. I use Turbinato (sp?) OR a product called "Sugar in the Raw". It is a natural product, not refined like the fine grain stuff in a package. It melts and doesn't burn like the refined stuff.
I use 2qt Tomato Juice, 1/2cp Tomato Paste, 4cl FRESH Garlic, 2 FRESH Onions, FRESH Tyme, 1/2cp Bourbon, 1/2cp Turbinato, Cayenne Pepper, Pancake Syrup, Black Strap Molasses, 4 Radish', 2 Red Bell Peppers, 4 baby Carrots, ect,,,, I use a food processor to make a paste out of the produce ingredients. Put it all together, simmer for 12hrs, let cool overnight, then simmer for another 12hrs before it is ready. Bottle it and keep it refrigerated. I make this by the gallon and use leftover plastic 1.75ltr Bourbon bottles to keep it in.
NO I'm not gonna give you exact quantities,,,, Start with the Juice and build it from there. Everybodies tastes are different. The simmering process is very slow. It does a great job of intensifying the flavors. The finished product is between a sauce and a paste. If applied to meat it will not run off. ;)

A simple one that's not too bad is ketchup and Coke.
Another variation you can try on a sauce you already have the recipe for is to hold out some sweetener and replace it with fruit puree. We used to make one with guava that was pretty good. To get the puree, just take some fruit and puree in a blender until smooth. I've also tasted a cranberry bbq sauce. I'm sure peaches would taste pretty good. And cherries.

If in a hurry, you can use Raspberry marmalade, the cheaper the better, seems to have less sugar.;)
