Would anybody like to share their tack driving 22-250 loads with this gun(Factory or Reload). I reload for my gun and currently am trying the 40gr Nosler +38.4gr Varget combo(not real good so far). I had great results from 40gr Noslers+ 41gr H380. Had somebody tell me to try varget so i bought some. Anybody have a tack driver with the varget ,40gr combo? My gun has hated 50 and 55 gr bullets so far. I'm just trying to find a good tack driver round for this gun and might save me some time and bullets if someone has a good combo . Thanks Brent

Varget isnt really a great choice for that small case capacity. If you go up to 39 gr of varget, it will be a compressed load. compressed loads dosent create the proper case pressure, increasing pressure in the barrel. That could be dangerous. try backing off to 37.0 gr you might be pushing that bullet way too fast causing it to become unstable at farther distances. 41gr H380 is a compressed load also. I have found that 38.5 is a very accurate load with the 40 gr nosler. just less velocity plenty of energy to do what you need.

Try some IMR4064 and the 52-55 grain berger bullets. My guns have all been fine and shoot well at 36.0 grains of IMR4064 and the bullets between a slight jam and about .010" off the lands. Work your way up to this load. As I said, It has been fine in all of the 22-250's that I have dealt with but is pretty stiff. If you don't have pressure problems, I am pretty sure that you will be happy with the results. This is my standby load for a 22-250.---Mike Ezell

I own the same gun and tried lots of different ammo. I settled on the Hornady 55 grain v-max bullets. Very accurate.
