Remington question

I had a friend tell me that he seen on Ky.Afield about Remington having
a manufacturing plant in Mayfield Ky. I personally did not see this.
I was wondering if anyone here has seen this or knows something
about it. it would be cool to have a rifle made in Ky.:cool:

Yep there is one in Mayfield...can't remember what all is made at that plant though...I know 597s but not what else. The barrels are stamped "made in Mayfield, Ky"

My son in law has a Rem 710 in 30/06 that is was made in Mayfield. Not sure what models are in production there now.

The ones that I've seen that came out of it in the past said Mayfield. :confused:

I grew up in Mayfield and lived there until about 6 years ago. The plant is north of it on Highway 45 at Hickory and isn't a very big place. It was built to produce the then new 597 and has had some others shuffled in and out of production as needed. I'm not sure what they are producing now. I'm pretty sure that it is primarily just an assembly plant (at least it used to be).

They also have an R&D center in Elizabethtown.

They make the model 770and the 597. they did dmake the model 504 but they moved it back to the mother plant in IIlion NY. They also assemble the Mauser with cal. ranging from .222 varmint to the .458 African big game rifle
