Just bought an automatic feeder on ebay. It says the feeder uses a 6-volt to 15 volt battery...where can I get one and what do they cost?
Also, I have a hopper and a feeder but not tri-pod. Could I place the hopper on the feeder and leave it on the ground???

My feeders use those square batteries with the springs on top. The best price I have found is WalMart. Spend a few extra bucks and get the rechargables.

They make a adapter to switch from 6 volts to 4 D Cell batterys, It is a little plastic box the size of a 6 volt that the d cells fit inside. I can run a set of good D cells all winter.
I can't tell you where to find them, a freind got me one from his work.

Either hang the feeder or get a tripod. It won't throw corn very far while sitting on the ground. Not sure what type feeder you have but I have a unused tripod where I made a standing on time green barrel feeder into a hanging one. Located in Muhlenberg county. PM if your near and interested.
