I made an effort to go to the Commission meeting yesterday and speak to them about the .177 as a viable small-game caliber for pellet guns. They had made changes last year to prohibit it, but starting next year, the .177 will join the .20 and .22 caliber pellets as legal game takers.
Funny thing was, they knocked out the .25, which is a very satisfactory airgun caliber for small game. Argument was that it was too confusing when dealing with deer-legal guns and small game guns.
But anyway, I thought I'd let those of you who use airguns for small game hunting know that you can legally use those .177's again starting next year.
