Tomorrow I'm blowing more money on a couple guns I get a great deal on at work. I'm getting a Springfield 1911 G.I. SS(new) and either a dpms lar308 a4, ss bull barrel OR a benelli m4 with the skeletonized(LE only) stock. I'm leaning towards the benelli because I have wanted one for awhile just like the lar but the benelli has the skeletonized stock which their website says is LE only and I have never found one I could buy. I just love that stock...of course the gun too. Life is just full of decisions. Of course I'm trying to buy while I still can...both because you never know who will be in office next year, and because I'll be married right before a new pres is ushered in...both could possible ruin my fun with certain(or all) guns:eek::(

If we're looking at this as an investment pending bad presidential hopefuls....

I would probably suggest buying 3 or 4 of the little Kel-Tec .223 pistols. If the assault weapons ban goes back in, those will certainly be on it, and you'll be able to command top dollar for them.

If you're looking for long term: I am leaning toward either the LAR or the Springfield. I just haven't noticed (except for the SPAS and Street Sweepers) any self defense shotguns that have gone up in value significantly. Plus, if you want an m-4 LEO with the special collapsible skeleton stock, you can just go buy an m-1 and slap a new barrel and stock on it. Here's the part #

I know they say it's LEO, but believe me, it's not... It's a sales tactic.

For hunting, the LAR would be my pick over all of em, since there's not much in North America short of a blue whale that would have you under gunned with a .308 and there's a bit of new surplus ammo trickling in to the country these days too.

I would definately buy the DPMS 308.And if there was a pre internal lock Springfield GI i would snatch it up also.


Call me crazy but i just dont like the idea of a internal mechanism to make a gun inoperable.

bought the G.I. and the m4...I got a unreal deal off the m4 which is the only reason I got it. I can get the dpms the next time we have an employee sale. Since as long as we don't have a ban, I can order any gun in at work that is made for the public. I looked a little more into the skeletonized stock last night and found I could buy the stock too, but I got a great deal on it, better deal than the dpms. I'll try and get some pics of the new toys:D And I have looked for the kel tec 223s...haven't got any in yet but I said we need to. Its hard to get kel tec to send them to us...they pretty much have a high demand for them.
