You guys don't think that's where a deer may have been getting started to rub but for some reason didn't get aggressive?

It is a lick branch gel that you can buy at the store. I used it 2 weeks ago. Some one was making mock rub.

I have a deer doing the same thing around my stand, the deer has split brow tines and has just scratched some of the larger trees. That pic looks about the same,,

Just a big buck that lost interest after a while. Bear claw marks are closer together and will be 15ft up the tree.
I know this because when I went to Ontario black bear hunting in September, there were trees all over the bait sites that had bear claw marks.

Bear, I've seen trees done like that before. If not a buck could have been working out his goring skills.
