Do they work or are they junk?

Hey Boss,

I was a big skeptic myself, figuring it was just another archery "gimmick". After installing them, however, I was quite impressed. There was definitely a noticable reduction in the noise level of the bow when shot. Now I'm wondering whether or not to try the string silencers.

They do work great, on compound or recurve. I have had great success with them and the String Leach is very good for noise reducion too.

They worked for me too, I put them on my bow and noticed a big
difference in sound and a little difference in the "hand shock"

I'm gonna get one of those smaller ones for my detatchable quiver too!

Yessir, they do work, both for noise & vibration. If you have anything on your bow that has a tendency to 'rattle' such as quiver, rest or sights, those small ones will take the noise of of them. It's like putting grease on a bell, it won't ring.

I think they work great on split limb compounds. However, if you have a standard limb compound or recurve/longbow, I have found over the length of a single season the glue doesn't hold and the units fall off. Reglueing is always an option but when I shot compound I shot 292 fps and the longest shot I usually take is 20 yards. Fast deer or not, I could cough out loud and they're not jumping that string. Now I use a recurve at 153 fps and have a lot more fun. If they jump it, they jump it.

I swear by them. They also sell the smaller ones for your equipment, i.e., your quiver. You would be suprised at how much noise one can make.

Hate to admit it, 'cause I got a good chuckle out of them when they first popped up, but they work pretty much as advertised.

From what I can tell at 3-d shoots, archery stores, etc. those things have almost become standard issue, at least for compound shooters. Dang, why didn't I think of that first???

Had trouble with my first set falling off. I took one of those green Scotchbrite pads & carefully rubbed the paint off a little spot on my limbs, then cleaned it with alcohol, before putting a new pair on. They've been on over a year now, haven't come off once (knock on wood).

When they first came out I would have never bought them. But I won a set at a shoot and I'm telling you it was like shooting a totally different bow. I've had them on every bow since. The solid limbsavers I've heard are harder to keep on but mine are still in tact after about 10 months or so. Some of the paint on the bows are a little rougher textured and they don't wan't to stick as well but if you smooth it out and clean in well you'll have better luck.

A friend of mine had his on for over a year and the lower limb saver tore off and the company sent him a set of the new Limbsavers for his bow.
