I just smoked a good size doe this morning. Just wondering if anybody has any good recipes for a deer roast.Any info is appreciated.

take your meat and salt and pepper it cover it with bacon.put it in an oven bag and cook at 250 for about 6 hours.

I agree with yote hunter. I take a roast and cut it down the middle about 3/4 of the way throuh and put a couple of strips of bacon in there then fold it back up and use tooth pics to hold it back to gether and put some bacon on the outside. with some seasoning and wrap it in aluminum foil. You can put some onions and potatos and stuff in there too. Makes a meal in a bag.

Go to Wal-Mart, in the sporting goods section, on the counter they have a wild game cook book for 97 cents. It has a recipe in there for deer pot roast that is awesome. The kids & I loved it, & Mom even ate some & she can't stand deer. The wife even liked it. I got mine in Clarksville, IN. Well worth the 97 cents.
