I'm hoping someone might know this , i found while hunting my fathers farm a grove of what appeared to be cane ..No it wasn't a pot patch :eek:lol.. It actually looks like cane..i found it down in a holler ..the grove was roughly12 across and 20 ft. long.. the cane stalks were about 3 ft. on the outside edge and about 8 ft. in the middle.. Has anyone seen this before ? Any help would be appreciated..
thanks

Think it's cane....what ever it is, it makes good cover for duck blinds. Seen a lot of it on Knox and have kicked a few deer out of it before. There's some growing on Dixie just before the top of the hill on the right going down.

River Cane is a native plant to Kentucky and is commonly found in drains near streams and along river beds.

Cane has many uses like cane poles and arrow shafts.........

Some cut them and use them as limb lines on the river.

Most likely it is cane, I have a patch on my farm in a low lieing area near a small creek. I am no where near a major river.

I've seen it growing up next to ridges. All it needs is to keep it's feet wet. I had a patch next to the house as a kid. That stuff has a thousand uses.

Giant River Cane (Arundinaria gigantea if you want to look up more info on it). Multidigits is right, it makes awesome waterfowl blind cover...just be sure to leave enough to keep the patch going.
