Calling for showers and possible storms with a breezy high of 64 in Western Ky. Where would you hunt? Would it be a good day to stalk or sit in the stand? Will the deer be moving more or less? Yeah the rut is on but with the cold front coming what will the deer do?

Need a little help to know if I should just sleep?? I always say I would rather hunt than lay in bed BUT with the storms I didn't know if I should lay asleep or not?

You won't catch me in a tree during a thunderstorm. I'm cutting out a little early today and heading to the woods. I probably won't hunt tomorrow but I'll be at it Thanksgiving morning. I'm pretty well tied up Thursday afternoon with the in-laws but I would LOVE to be hunting as the front comes thru and snow is flying.

80% chance of storms here with winds gusting to 22mph with rain on up into the night.

I believe I would rest up. I've already been soaking wet and sat through a thunderstorm once this year. The wind is supposed to be even worse on Thursday, though.

The storms is what worries me. A little rain is okay but strong storms can be life threaten. Maybe I get up and check the local radar and decide from there. Something just keeps wanting to send me to the woods tomorrow.

How accurate is your gut? :D

Usually when I have that feeling it turns out to be right but it sure may be miserable if it's not.

I shot my buck last wed. in crappy weather. Raining, gusty wind. In the stand 3 minutes and here he comes. I will be out this afternoon, then again Thursday morning, and hopefully Friday too.

I'm not going to get a chance to go Wed. but it's supposed to be raining cats and dogs up here.

I will get a chance to go out Thursday morning before we go to the in laws house. I think it is going to be 44 degrees (pretty warm in my book for deer hunting) come 6 am on Thursday.

What is everyone's opinion on hunting in warmer weather or freezing cold?
Do you like it...more activity on cold/warm days???

What is everyone's opinion on hunting in warmer weather or freezing cold?

My opinion is that either or you will see more deer in the stand than at home on the couch. Thats what I told myself this past wed. when it was raining, and just happened to turn out I was right:D

One of my buddies just busted one about 20 minutes ago.

The warm weather must not be bothering them too much today.

My guts NEVER lie. Thats why it will have to be torms before I won't go out on WED morning.

Bowling Green weather gave the stormy weather for Wed afternoon here but winds 15-25 mph. I will still give the morn a shot then hall but out when it starts getting rough.

My gut was right, kind of. I didn't see any deer at all yesterday, but I'm still pretty sure I wouldn't have seen any here at work either!!!:D

I didn't see a single deer yesterday until I got in the truck to leave. Was it the wind or the heat???? Either way, things will hopefully pick up this weekend.

Several deer had the feed bag on this morning ahead of this front. We got a gully washer right about daylight and just sprinkles since. Several guys out in TN this morning hunting too.

I'm mad at myself. I was going to take off work today and didn't b/c the weather man said that it is going to rain all day. Well guess what it hasn't rained at all!! I want to leave work!!!

Irs been raining steady for an hour in Mayfield. I am glad I am not hunting this morning. The deer sure where moving last night. I even seen deer that I had not seen yet. If it stops or slows way down I will be out there this afternoon. I have seen them chasing does the last 3 nights so I think it is just getting right where I am at. HEATH

I am planning on heading to the woods around 2pm today. I hope the rain lets up before then.

Raining pretty good now, and the wind ha picked up:(. It would be a good day to stay in, but I can't kill a deer from my couch now can I?

You would have to swim to your stand around here at the moment.

Yeah it got pretty nasty around here at 11 or so.
I'm thinking tomorrow will be a great morning to be int he stand.
What does everyone else think?

I know I practically had to swim to my stand 5 minutes before I shot my buck last week. Your right XI, you aren't going to kill squat sitting on the couch.
