well last tuesday evening was sitting in the stand about ready to leave and heard a boom over my right shoulder,,,,,needless to say i heard a bullet wizzing by my ear,,,,he had to be under 100 yards from me because there was a split secound from the boom to the bullet going by,,,needless to say i filled my drawers,,,,i come out of the stand ready to fight,,,,,i had it in my mind i was going to whoop someones %&#,,,but never did find them,,,,but what made that so bad,, a few weeks before that i had another mild heart attack,,,,,all i know,is that i really believe God himself stopped that bullet from hitting me as close as it got to me,,,,,,,,,i got the answer i have been looking for,,,and i did what the answer said,,,,i sold all my hunting stuff,,and now i am selling my redneck 4 wheeler on the classifieds,,i know,,redneck 4 wheeler,,,hey it worked for me,,,,,friday will be my last day in the field,,,,it is not worth dieing over,,,,

I glad it missed you and that you are okay. They have been 5 deaths associated with gun season this year in Kentucky. I hope you the best.

Think about this. A bullet from a deer rifle travels considerably faster than the speed of sound, so you should have heard the bullet zip by BEFORE you heard the sound of gunfire. Are you sure what you heard was not an acorn falling or something? Good luck whatever you do.

you have a point rick,,,but it was a low power rifle,,didn't have the crack of anything big,,,but it was big enough though,,,i know what a rifle bullet sounds like passing the body,,,it has happened to me before several years ago,,that why i stopped hunting that farm,,,plus i was in the military years ago,,,

It doesn't matter how "low powered" a rifle is. The bullet is still faster than the sound.

I too had a bullet come very close to me years ago on peabody. So close I could here it tumbling and clipping brush as it went by. no more than 10 feet or so. had the strangest whistle sound to it. one I will never forget.
