My quest for this buck started back in early august when I started getting pics of him very close to my house. I have hunted nearly 3 months in search of this monster. Early season I passed many nice bucks in hopes of catching this guy.
However, early September there was word about a person hitting a big buck around my area, we all hoped it was not him, but I just found out that this buck was found very close to where I have hunted almost all season. Apparently he was the one hit by the truck and the farmer found him in the corn field I hunted near while he was cutting it this past weekend. It was an awesome challenge for me and I learned a great deal about big buck behavior...
I felt that this buck deserved to be in this section no matter how he died.
I'm happy to finally put my hands on him.
Here's some before and after pics....
By the way I named him Special Delivery..

Man, it stinks that he couldn't succumb to one of your arrows and have the hard work pay off. That is a nice looking deer and i would have held out in hopes of him too. Good luck getting another biggun.

Sad you didn't get to hunt him, but at least you got to see up close and personal just how big he really was/is.

IF you get to keep it, I would still take it to a taxidermist and have them find you a cape. You don't have to kill it to have the memory. It could be a constant reminder of what might have been and what NOT shooting the little guys can do. Good luck and great deer.

Sorry you didn't get to put an arrow through him. At least you know what happened to him. It's better than a year or two from now and you're about to drive yourself to the looney bin trying to find him and still holding out for him. Hopefully he did spread those genes around.

What a bummer. I do have a large cape though if you now have the rack and want to get him mounted.
