It took me a couple of days to talk about it,but I missed a gimme shot on a huge 8 pointer that I have been hunting on Saturday. Those of you that know me, know that I shoot competively in benchrest and take a lot of pride in my shooting. Weellllllllll, I totally missed a 75 yard broadside shot on one of the two big deer that I have been hunting this year. It made me sick to my stomach, literally. I have only had buckfever one other time and that was bear hunting. I got it again on Saturday though and just plain missed a great deer. Hoping for some redemption.---Gone Hunting!!!!!

I had the same problem on Sunday I missed one that would have normally been an easy shot. I had him centered about 100 yards and when I shot he bolted but did not act like he was hit!! I could not believe it! When I went to the spot where he was all hair and no blood looked back and had shot through a tree about 4" in diameter that I did not even see through the scope.

Well, Mike I don't know if I would rather have missed one, or not seen one like in my case...probably not seen one, since I have missed the only big buck I have seen while hunting!! Good luck next time

What is that ole saying.... "It is better to have loved and lost then never to have loved."
I know you must be feeling terrible for missing. There is nothing you can do about that now but continue to hunt. I have hunted hard and have absolutely nothing to show for it. The ones I am after seemed to have disappeared off the face of the earth.
Good luck to ya!

Thanks guys! I connected on one this am. Not what I was wanting but still a good kill. A good mature 8 pointer at first daylight. Makes me feel a little better. WHAT MISS?
