You guys have any reports from Barkley or Kentucky Lake. Was there about a week ago, it was absolutely loaded with ducks, but then went back yesterday to do some blind work and never seen the first one. Any reports?

Soft ducks.

From what I've heard, they all left with the last cold front that moved through.

I was down Sat afternoon helping a friend brush a blind and he said that about 80% of the ducks that were there 2weeks ago are gone!! I saw one pocket that had about 50 teal and 30 gadwall and mallards and that was by far the highest concetration of duck down there.

We started brushing the club blind 2 weekends ago. Saw a fair amount then. Guys that did their tour of duty this past weekend said they saw none. Not even any boat dock birds. Typical.

I'm sure opening day the hunters will greatly outnumber the ducks.

I bet your write on the out numbering part. Anyone going to the lake be sure and be careful some crazy ones down there last year some boys got swamped by a boat trying to beat them out of them bay and they went down. Everyone be careful.

Supposed to be wind gusting to 30+ mph on Thursday.

The lakes are no place to be when it starts cranking like that.

My guess there will be 2 to 3 hundred hunters between the bridges. Good front coming in should push some ducks around.

If winds are going to be blowing like that, I will not be hunting the lakes on opening morning, even if the winds are out of the east or west! Don't get me wrong, I like wind while hunting, but it is too dangerous with that kind of wind. Thats too strong for my Jack Kite, LoL!

If the water was up another 6 feet or so this is setting up for a repeat of the big wind storm that trashed almost every blind on the lake 3 years ago.

Westkybanded, Tha' Hat and I were up there for that one. There were rollers the size of ocean waves going down the lake. Biggest I have ever seen there in my life and I have lived here my whole life. We had ducks come in but you couldn't hit them because the boat was moving vertically about 4 feet at a clip. There's no way to compensate for that.

We got the heck out of there before it got really serious about 30 minutes after we trailered up.

You just gave me nightmares, of the storm. Our blind didn't get trashed but it did get relocated about 10 miles or so. Hell it to 3 days to find it! Now we got more cable attached to our for a 100 yard swing if our main anchor get loose.

I'm almost relieved that we don't have ours ready to put in the water yet now.
