It had potatos carrets and deer as well as some other stuff.

Just throw in whatever else you can find. :D Potatoes, carrots, celery, onions, green pepper, black peppercorns, salt, beef stock, dark beer, garlic... it's all good. :cool:

Stew is what it is. He specified that red currant jelly be used, said it makes a difference.

My wife make an awesome crock pot backstrap /roast meal.
Take a half backstap, 2-3 cups of water, a packet of liptons french onion
soup, carrots, potatos and cook on low in crock pot all day. When you walk in the door from work the aroma hits you like brick in the face. Man, i'm getting hungry...see ya

Everyone to his own but man what a waste of a backstrap. Those hams will do wonders in a crock pot. Save those staps for frying:D.

Amen BunnyBuster save those backstraps for the grill. Put that tough meat in the crock pot.
