hey guys i have a very old and odd gun.. a remington model 760 gamemaster pump. in .270 cal. the stock on this gun has seen its better days and i would love to repalce it. it would take to much to sand down and refinsh due to some deep straches after the gun was stolen from my house about 2 years ago.... sucks i know. this gun means a lot to me as it was handed down from my grandfather and he passed away this march so yea.... does any know of any one who might sell replacement stocks for this gun under $120? wood or syntheic is fine with me.... please let me know!

Call cabelas and talk to a rep, I am pretty sure they have stocks to fit in your price range.
You may also try Gunbroker.com under gun parts and just enter 760 stock in the search engine.

I hope this helps,I know how guns passed down have a certain value no matter what they are worth in the shooters bible.

Check out e-gunparts.com - they should be able to fix you up in either wood or synthetic within your price range.

Good Heavens! Don't replace that stock! If this is a family heirloom, keep it intact, scratches and all. You can strip and refinish that stock, take out the small blemishes and live with the deep ones. It wouldn't be grandpa's rifle with a new shiny plastic stock on it.

You can do it yourself. I've done several and I'm no skilled craftsman. Take the stock off, take off all the furniture, strip the finish with liquid stripper, replace the furniture, and then start sanding with progressively finer grits of sandpaper, starting with 320 and ending with 600 or so. Buy a bottle of Tru-oil (Walmart) and follow directions. After about 8 or 10 coats of finish, you'll be happy you didn't discard the old one.

You can get good instructions from a million places on the web, or right here from some of the guys.

Why would you want to do that? Don't redo anything if those deep marks were put there by the guy you are remembering the rifle by. Keep it as is and use the remodeling money to buy a new rifle.
Every scratch tells a story.........
