Nice dogs!

I missed a dandy yote at 15 yards with my bow on opening morning of gun season. Came in so quick on the trot that I couldn't grab my bow and get it drawn and aimed before he was moving through my lane. I'm not even sure I was looking through the peep when I released, and I shot right over his back.

Saw one other yote that morning (no shot opportunity) and a beautiful mink that was loitering around in the lake right next to me.

I think there is an excessive amount of yotes this year. I have never seen that many hunting and I have seen alot dead on the road here lately. I also saw one in a field between Lexington and Midway today on the interstate. Its like they have had a population explosion or something.

My friend had 5 come up on him in Perryville. Couldn't get a shot in because a buck was lurking near. Thankfully they scurried away.

We have a ton of them on our property. I missed one during muzzleloading season, I hope he comes back around during rifle season.

Good Job! Now, skin them buggers out, don't just throw them in the hollower.

I was sitting in some roll bales opening day of gun season watching an alfalfa field when two fawns busted out of the treeline with a yote on their trail. A few seconds later, another doe busted out with a yote on her tail. I threw some lead at it but it was a full stride - he gave up on the doe and headed back for the trees going 90 !! First time I've seen
them chase deer in person.

I had one try to attack my decoy a couple years ago. I had my decoy setup out in front of me and started doing some fawn in destress calls with my tube. I noticed some movement to my left. Hunkered down and creeping slowly toward my decoy, there he was. He inched closer and closer. All of a sudden, he stood up a little to get a better look and BAMM. I lowered the boom on him.

Shot the hair off the belly of one a couple weeks, back with my bow. They sure can run fast after they are shaved.:D
